Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching elementary school students, developing and implementing lesson plans, and assessing student progress. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of elementary school students.
  • Assess student progress, identify areas of improvement, and develop strategies to support student growth.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and educational conferences to stay updated on best practices in education.
  • Supervise teaching assistants and student teachers, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Assign and correct homework, develop course content, and prepare subject material for presentation according to an approved curriculum.
  • Lead students in activities that promote their physical, mental, and social development, and prepare them for school readiness.
  • Prepare, administer, and correct tests, and teach students using lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations, and field trips.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Provincial or Territorial Teaching Certificate.
  • Experience in teaching elementary school students, an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
