Job Title: Snow Plow Operator

Job Summary:

  • As a Snow Plow Operator with the Municipal Group of Companies, you will be responsible for operating a tandem axle plow/sand truck on the Trans Labrador highway.
  • You will perform daily pre and post operational checks on equipment and complete daily paperwork requirements.
  • Maintaining equipment and facilities in good condition is also a key aspect of this role.
  • You will work in a rotational schedule with 20 days on and 10 days off, and be on call and available throughout the contract period.
  • Additional working time during snow/ice events may be required.

Skills Requirements/Duties:

  • Class 1 or 3 NL Driver's License (or equivalent from another province) is required.
  • Experience operating snow blowers and related snow removal tools/equipment is an asset.
  • Experience with a dump truck, snow plow truck, loader (CAT 966 or equivalent) and salt truck is also an asset.
  • Preference is given to local hires for the two communities.
  • Operators located in Ranger Lake will be working in an isolated location and must be familiar with operating generators and cooking and cleaning for themselves.
