Role Overview:

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, ensuring effective sourcing strategies are implemented to meet organizational needs. This role requires a strong background in managing procurement projects and leading teams through comprehensive sourcing cycles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide mentorship and training to junior procurement staff, fostering their professional development.
  • Lead and manage sourcing initiatives, including planning, drafting Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Negotiated Requests for Proposals (NFRPs), Requests for Quotes (RFQs), and Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Conduct negotiations, evaluate supplier proposals, and facilitate contract execution.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite effectively to support procurement activities.
  • Demonstrate relevant experience in a similar procurement role, ensuring all experience aligns with the responsibilities of this position.

Technical Proficiencies:

  • Familiarity with trade agreements and relevant legislation, including the Financial Administration Act and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

Experience Requirements:

  • Proficient in using ERP systems, particularly SAP, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of tender systems, including E-bidding, is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of SCMP or equivalent certifications is advantageous.
