Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Specialist to join our Finance and Audit IT team at the Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support for the development and maintenance of our enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess business requirements and recommend solutions that meet stakeholder needs
  • Develop technical solutions to achieve business objectives
  • Lead and facilitate working sessions and business interviews to achieve clarity on business objectives
  • Identify and resolve business systems/technical issues
  • Coordinate design phases for small projects, identifying, tracking and resolving technical issues
  • Participate in walkthrough reviews of technical specifications, programs and unit test plans
  • Provide estimates on activities/tasks required to perform design, coding and unit testing
  • Performance tuning to improve performance of the single function
  • Low-level planning of work packages meeting project objectives within budget and on time
  • Provide third-level support of applications, databases etc.
Requirements
  • Experience in C#/.NET, Python, SQL, UNIX/Windows OS, databases
  • Undergraduate degree from a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on computer science, engineering, or technology
  • Solution-oriented mindset
  • Customer service-oriented with effective interpersonal skills
  • Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong MS Office skills
