This role will involve guiding students through fundamental statistical concepts and their practical applications within various business contexts. You will equip them with the tools and knowledge to analyze data, interpret trends, and make informed decisions.

Course Overview

The course provides a comprehensive introduction to statistical methods and their relevance in the business world. Students will explore:

  • Data exploration techniques, including graphical representations and descriptive statistics.
  • Measures of central tendency and dispersion to summarize data effectively.
  • Applications of random variables and probability distributions in management scenarios.
  • Key probability distributions such as binomial, Poisson, normal, exponential, and uniform.
  • Introduction to statistical process control and quality improvement methodologies.

Practical experience with Excel or Minitab will be integrated throughout the course.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A Master's degree (PhD preferred) in statistics or a related field where statistical applications for management were extensively utilized.
  • Demonstrated recent professional experience directly applying statistical methods in a business setting.

Equivalencies to the required education and/or experience will be considered.
