Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Little Otters Daycare Centre Ltd. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to our young students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Design and implement engaging child-care programs that cater to the diverse needs of our children, promoting their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Leadership and Guidance: Lead activities that foster learning and growth, including storytelling, singing, and exploring local points of interest.
  • Child Engagement: Encourage children to participate in activities that promote creativity, social skills, and emotional intelligence.
  • Health and Hygiene: Guide children in developing good eating, dressing, and toilet habits, ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
  • Observation and Reporting: Monitor children's progress and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors, highlighting areas of strength and potential concerns.
  • Behavioural Support: Establish clear guidelines for behaviour and provide support to children as needed.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and challenges, and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and community service providers.
  • Program Planning: Organize activities for school-age children before and after regular school hours, ensuring a smooth transition between childcare and education.
Requirements
  • Certifications and Qualifications: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate and First Aid Certificate.
  • Security and Safety: Criminal record check.
  • Work Environment: 30-40 hours per week, with a focus on providing a safe and nurturing environment for our children.
