We are a dynamic and innovative sushi restaurant seeking a highly skilled and experienced kitchen manager to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring the highest quality of food and service, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and dishwashers
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures
    • Establish methods to meet work schedules and ensure timely food preparation
  • Food Quality and Safety
    • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
    • Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation
    • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees
    • Participate in a government or community program that supports newcomers and refugees
    • Assist with immediate settlement needs, such as housing, transportation, and childcare
    • Support social and labour market integration through language training, skills training, and access to community resources
  • Support for Youth and Indigenous People
    • Participate in a government or community program that supports youth employment and Indigenous people
    • Provide on-the-job training tailored to youth and cultural competency training to create a welcoming work environment
Requirements
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Permanent employment with 30 to 36 hours per week
  • English language proficiency
