Academy Finance Director

Southside Group, a leading corporation in London's construction and real estate sector, is seeking a seasoned Director of Finance to drive its financial operations forward.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial management, with a strong understanding of industry-specific accounting practices and financial analysis.

  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate financial statements, including project-specific reports, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, accounting standards, and internal financial controls.
  • Government Remittance and Payroll: Review HST returns, bi-weekly payroll, and ensure source deduction and other government remittance payments are made on time.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flows for the group of companies.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative environment and supporting their professional growth.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in financial management within the construction or real estate industry, with a deep understanding of project accounting and financial management practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior management.
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience managing and developing finance teams.
