An experienced Dentist is sought to deliver essential dental services within a correctional environment. This position involves collaborating with a Dental Assistant to administer comprehensive restorative dental care to the facility's population. Common procedures will include extractions, root canal treatments, and fillings, alongside managing pain relief and addressing dental emergencies arising from trauma or chronic dental issues. Additionally, health education and patient instruction will play a crucial role in this position.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver primary dental care, including diagnostic x-rays and health promotion initiatives.
- Oversee all facets of dental service delivery, ensuring effective coordination with dental specialists to maintain continuity and integration of care.
- Accurately document all dental services in compliance with relevant regulations and professional standards, including assessments, treatments, and consultations.
- Current licensure with the Provincial Dental Board of Alberta.
- A minimum of six months of experience in dental practice within the last two years.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Availability or ability to secure a PSPC Enhanced Reliability clearance certificate.
