Position Overview
The role of a Millwright is integral to the Maintenance team, focusing on the upkeep, repair, installation, assembly, and modification of machinery to ensure optimal performance, quality, and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance, repairs, installations, assemblies, and modifications on various equipment.
- Conduct lubrication of machinery, seal replacements, and cleaning of components during overhauls and preventive maintenance.
- Interpret and create blueprints and schematic diagrams to establish work procedures.
- Utilize CMMS to enter work requests and procure necessary parts and materials.
- Troubleshoot, adjust, and repair equipment as needed.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of preventive maintenance protocols within the assigned area.
- Align machines and equipment for optimal performance.
- Assemble machinery components as required.
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing and piping systems.
- Manage the installation, repair, and maintenance of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Engage in welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks.
- Monitor and maintain equipment using predictive and preventive maintenance techniques, including vibration analysis and thermal imaging.
- Provide training and mentorship to apprentices.
- Actively participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects.
- Perform additional duties as necessary.
Qualifications for Success:
- A minimum of 3 years of industrial experience.
- Proficient knowledge of equipment maintenance practices.
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods, climb, bend, stoop, squat, and lift as required.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at significant heights.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Excellent time management, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with proficient writing abilities.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and coordination.
- Ability to comprehend and adhere to safety regulations and protocols.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate computer proficiency.
- Willingness to pursue training opportunities for professional development.
Educational Requirements:
- Red Seal certification as an Industrial Mechanic/Millwright.
Work Environment:
This position involves working in various industrial settings, where safety and teamwork are paramount.
