Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Assets Controller to oversee a team of property accountants and ensure precise financial reporting. This is a permanent, full-time role that requires a strong background in both commercial and residential real estate.


Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and review the preparation of the general ledger and working paper files, ensuring accuracy in financial reports and statements.
- Conduct financial analyses to support asset and property management in making informed real estate management decisions.
- Review monthly and year-end tenant tax and CAM reconciliations, including variance analysis and tenant billing processes.
- Attend meetings with senior management and the Board of Trustees/Directors as necessary.
- Provide assistance and respond to inquiries from senior management and the Board.


Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in the real estate sector, with at least 2 years focused on preparing consolidated financial statements.
- Strong technical skills, including a comprehensive understanding of IFRS and real estate industry-specific income tax reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, is essential.
- Excellent organizational and administrative abilities.
- Proven leadership skills with the capacity to mentor and guide junior staff.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
