Our growing team in Canada seeks a highly skilled and experienced Lead Structural Engineer to join our Industrial and Infrastructure Business Line in Burnaby. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects while working alongside a talented team of professionals.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive structural engineering designs, encompassing conceptual design through detailed drawings, tender documentation, and construction phases, adhering to Canadian Codes and Standards.
  • Conduct thorough analysis and design of diverse structures, including steel, concrete, masonry, and timber, as well as concrete foundations for new infrastructure projects and seismic upgrade initiatives.
  • Perform on-site inspections and evaluations of existing structures, generating detailed reports to inform project decisions.
  • Assess the structural integrity of existing buildings undergoing modifications or additions, proposing reinforcement solutions to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Prepare comprehensive specifications, design criteria, and material take-offs for projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers on the project team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Effectively communicate with clients and contractors, providing technical expertise and addressing inquiries promptly.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering from an accredited university. A Master's degree is considered a significant asset.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in British Columbia. Registration in other provinces or internationally is highly valued.
  • Designated as a Designated Structural Engineer (DSE) by the province of British Columbia.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, with a demonstrated focus on seismic design and analysis.
