Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Engineering Technology educator to join our team at NAIT. As an Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the Construction Engineering Technology program, providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Curriculum Development: Develop and deliver high-quality course materials, including lectures, labs, and assignments, to ensure students meet the program's learning objectives.
- Student Evaluation and Progress Tracking: Conduct regular evaluations of student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to help students achieve their academic goals.
- Industry Partnerships and Community Engagement: Foster relationships with industry partners and participate in community events to promote the program and enhance student learning opportunities.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, attending conferences and workshops to maintain expertise and enhance teaching methods.
- Program Review and Improvement: Participate in program reviews and contribute to the development of new courses and curriculum to ensure the program remains relevant and effective.
Requirements:
- Education: A graduate or undergraduate degree in Architecture or Engineering (Construction/Civil or a related area), or a Diploma in Construction Engineering or Architectural Technology from a recognized Technical Institute.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management and/or estimating with a general contracting firm or similar (commercial/institutional/industrial), or a strong background in the fundamentals of the Construction Engineering Technology program.
- Skills and Abilities: Excellent written and oral communication skills, basic computer literacy, and experience with project management software and tools.
