Job Title: Labour Relations Advisor

At Transat, we are seeking a highly skilled Labour Relations Advisor to join our team. As a Labour Relations Advisor, you will play a key role in maintaining harmonious working relationships between employees, managers, and union representatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a resource person for first-level managers and the human resources team on labour relations matters.
  • Provide advisory support or act as a spokesperson in the negotiation of collective agreements, letters of understanding, and other negotiated agreements.
  • Provide opinions on the application of collective agreements, employment terminations, disciplinary measures, and other labour-related matters.
  • Update and maintain absenteeism files.
  • Perform various legislative research.
  • Participate in and lead various labour relations committees.
  • Facilitate, structure, and participate in grievance meetings as required.
  • Advise managers on various topics related to labour relations and relevant laws.
  • Represent the employer before various administrative tribunals.
  • Ensure the preparation of various files, including grievances, disciplinary meetings, arbitrations, and negotiation of collective agreements.
Requirements:
  • University diploma in Labour Relations or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 6-8 years of experience as a Labour Relations Advisor or a similar title.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is essential.
  • Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code is an asset.
  • Leadership and proactive skills.
  • Client-oriented and strong ability to influence others and communication skills.
  • Team spirit and creative thinking.
