Job Title: Crane Operator

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Crane Operator to join our team at Bothar. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of crane equipment, ensuring the successful execution of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate crane equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company policies, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety protocols.
  • Conduct daily pre- and post-inspections of crane equipment, identifying and reporting any defects or issues.
  • Develop and implement lift plans, determining safe lifting capacities and ensuring the safe movement of materials and personnel.
  • Participate in tailgate meetings and operations discussions, contributing to the development of safe working practices and procedures.
  • Assist other crew members with general tasks and provide support with slinging and rigging operations as required.

Requirements:

  • Education: Journeyman Crane Operator certification or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment, with a focus on crane operation.
  • Experience with Telescopic Crawler cranes is highly desirable.
  • Relevant work experience with Micro-tunneling and Shaft Sinking is an asset.

Additional Requirements:

  • WHIMIS, First Aid, CSTS or PCST, Confined Space Entry and Rescue, and Fall Arrest/Fall Protection certifications are required.
  • Pre-employment drug and alcohol clearance is mandatory.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential.

Working Conditions:

  • Work will be performed in a variety of environments, including the yard and field locations, with varying hours of work, including night shifts.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
