About the Role

Kiewit's McNally district is seeking a highly skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing innovative design solutions for temporary structures and construction methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop drawings and calculations for temporary works and construction methods, including support of excavation systems, cofferdams, and heavy lift plans.
  • Evaluate existing structures for construction loads and/or demolition planning, and design waterfront structures such as wharves and marine cofferdams.
  • Perform and/or review calculations and design drawings, according to industry codes, standards, and client design criteria.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of design deliverables, and identify design risks and assist with risk mitigation planning.
  • Assist in Project Management, including budgets, schedules, quality control, and coordination/communication with clients.

Requirements

  • Accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's degree or greater in Structural Engineering is preferred.
  • Years of relevant engineering experience, with specific technical knowledge of soil-structure interaction, hydrostatics, vessel stability, and structural analysis.
  • Professional Engineer licensure or eligibility within Canada.
  • Strong all-around academic knowledge of structural engineering, and experience with engineering design software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with individuals at all levels of the organization.
