The Inventory Management Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the Corporate Inventory Officers in their daily operations and performance, ensuring the effective management and distribution of supplies and equipment to maintain precise inventory records. This role involves providing leadership, support, and guidance. Additionally, the supervisor is responsible for training staff, promoting a collaborative work environment, and coordinating with other sectors/branches to achieve organizational objectives. This position is vital in sustaining and supporting operational readiness.

Work environment

Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) operates as a distinct entity and is not governed by the Public Service Employment Act. ESDC has its own classification, compensation system, and staffing regime. Individuals appointed to ESDC remain part of the federal government and will receive the public service pension plan and public service insurance benefits plan.

The purpose of this recruitment and selection process is to staff one (1) position on an indeterminate basis and to establish a pool of qualified and/or partially qualified candidates. The pool may also be utilized in the future to fill similar positions within ESDC.

EDUCATION:
A post-secondary diploma OR an acceptable combination of experience, training, and education.

E1 - Significant experience in providing functional guidance and reviewing the work of others in a client service and/or warehousing environment.
E2 - Recent and significant experience in a client service-related field.
E3 - Experience in providing advice and recommendations to management on client issues.
E4 - Experience in scheduling, monitoring, and organizing workflow.

DEFINITIONS:
Recent means within the last five (5) years.
Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of complex activities related to this task, which are acquired on a full-time basis over a given period of time.
