Job Title: Switchgear Application Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Switchgear Application Specialist to join our team at Regal Rexnord. As a key member of our Power Generation Industry team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to our field service teams, customers, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance to field service teams on low and medium voltage switchgear products, including commissioning, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance.
  • Offer technical support to customers on switchgear products through our Service Ticketing System.
  • Develop and maintain Method of Procedure (MOP) guidelines for site trips and projects.
  • Implement ongoing improvements to Service Forms and work instructions.
  • Communicate with Product Engineering/Design Teams on product bulletins, software upgrades, and maintenance factors.
  • Provide technical training programs for customers and employees on new and existing products.
  • Assist the Technical Call Desk, Coordinators, and other cross-functional teams with customer inquiries and issues.
  • Ensure comprehensive understanding and compliance with company policies, quality standards, and health and safety regulations.
  • Build and maintain exemplary customer and vendor relationships.
  • Participate in factory witness/shop testing as required.
  • Work with 3rd party equipment vendors to resolve re-occurring issues with vendor equipment.
  • Provide feedback on issues found in the field to Manufacturing and Engineering.
  • Work with the Field Service Supervisor to schedule field resources.
  • Travel to sites to provide in-person technical support as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of technical experience in the Power Generation Industry or similar industry.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, upgrading, and retrofitting electrical distribution systems.
  • Past field service work history with an OEM or reputable service company.
  • Responsible, self-motivated, and excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional technical written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and ensure follow-up on multiple competing priorities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of PLC and HMI programming and applications.
  • Advanced understanding and ability to interpret detailed electrical and mechanical schematics and ladder logic programs.
  • Ability to work independently and travel if required.
