Role Overview
The Compliance Manager for AML/ATF Risk Management oversees a dedicated team of advisors and analysts. This role is pivotal in orchestrating the management and execution of anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing (AML/ATF) initiatives. The incumbent will report directly to the Senior Manager of Operational Risk and AML/ATF Risk Management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guide a team of advisors and analysts, ensuring adherence to high standards and timely completion of tasks.
  • Encourage a results-driven and motivating work atmosphere, developing solutions to enhance team productivity.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of AML/ATF regulations and their application within a banking framework.
  • Support the professional development of team members through regular coaching and mentorship.
  • Provide strategic advice and assistance to Operations and Personal Banking units in their daily functions and initiatives.
  • Evaluate risks and formulate appropriate recommendations.
  • Prepare various reports, analyses, and presentations for the CAML/ATF support office and senior management.
  • Maintain current procedures to ensure compliance with the Bank's AML/ATF policies and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate consistently with the CAML/ATF support office, Financial Crime and AML/ATF teams, and Internal Audit.
  • Advocate for adherence to the Bank's AML/ATF standards and the significance of preventing, detecting, and addressing AML/ATF issues.
  • Assist the Senior Manager and undertake additional tasks as requested or required as part of the role.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of eight years of pertinent experience in combating financial crime, including prior experience in a managerial capacity.
  • Bilingual proficiency in spoken and written French and English is essential.
  • Experience in the banking sector.
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Proven track record of building robust relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Competence in drafting reports and presentations.
  • CAMS certification (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) is an asset.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
