Job Description

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Indigenous Engagement and Knowledge Specialist to join our Environmental Permitting and Management team in Ontario. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in leading consultation and engagement activities with Indigenous communities, working closely with our Environmental specialists.

We are looking for an individual with a strong understanding of Indigenous Traditional Knowledge and worldview, as well as experience working on Environmental programs with First Nations and Indigenous communities. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field, and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities will include developing and coordinating Indigenous, stakeholder, and regulatory engagement programs, reviewing Indigenous Knowledge studies, and supporting the assessment of project impacts on Indigenous and Treaty Rights and Interests. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and maintaining project/task schedules and budgets, and supporting business development efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate Indigenous, stakeholder, and regulatory engagement programs
  • Review Indigenous Knowledge studies and incorporate information into environmental impact assessments
  • Support the assessment of project impacts on Indigenous and Treaty Rights and Interests
  • Develop and maintain project/task schedules and budgets
  • Support business development efforts
