Role Summary:

Reporting to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager, the Facility Maintenance Specialist is tasked with a variety of cleaning services, including but not limited to the sanitation of equipment, floors, workstations, and communal areas. Utilizing specific cleaning agents, the Specialist ensures compliance with sanitary standards. The role demands adherence to the 6 Sigma guidelines to maintain cleanliness across all factory areas while upholding a safe work environment in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cleaning of machinery, equipment, floors, and restrooms.
  • Utilize heavy equipment and tools for sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and buffing floors.
  • Maintain cleanliness of walls, windows, and bathrooms.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in industrial or commercial cleaning is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety regulations, WHMIS, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • A minimum of one year of cleaning experience is an asset.
