Job Summary

GFL Environmental is seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused Waste Processing Technician to join our team. As a key member of our processing facilities, you will be responsible for the handling, consolidating, and processing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials in a timely and safe manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure waste is processed in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks and containers, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
  • Verify that incoming waste meets acceptance criteria and adheres to regulatory requirements.
  • Operate processing machinery and equipment as required, maintaining a high level of safety and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular job hazard risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Promote a culture of safety and excellence within the team, ensuring all employees adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform general shop maintenance and upkeep, ensuring a clean and organized work environment.
  • Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Class 5 driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to complete accurate and detailed paperwork.
  • Planning and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and solve problems effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on safety and customer satisfaction.
