About the Role

We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Calgary. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing electrical building systems, preparing drawings and specifications, and collaborating with other disciplines to ensure seamless project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Electrical Building Systems: You will design electrical building systems, including electrical distribution, fire alarm, lighting, security, communication, and audio-visual systems.
  • Prepare Drawings and Specifications: You will prepare drawings and specifications necessary to deliver a project, including electrical layouts, lighting layouts, and power distribution layouts.
  • Collaborate with Other Disciplines: You will work closely with other disciplines, including structural, architectural, and mechanical engineers, to ensure that electrical systems are integrated seamlessly into the overall building design.
  • Perform Electrical Load Calculations: You will perform electrical load calculations for base building projects, ensuring that electrical systems are designed to meet the needs of the building.
  • Respond to Internal and External Communication: You will respond to internal and external communication regarding project or design status, and report to the principal and/or project manager regarding the design status.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 Years of Experience: You will have a minimum of 3 years of direct industry experience in the field of electrical building services.
  • Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering: You will have a diploma or degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Autodesk Revit 2017 or Newer: You will have knowledge and experience working with Autodesk Revit 2017 or newer, with exposure to electrical layouts and systems.
  • Strong Communication Skills: You will have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients.
