Key Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Director of Programs
  • Oversee a team of lifeguards and swim instructors
  • Facilitate the implementation of aquatics programming in accordance with LSS standards
  • Recruit, mentor, and actively supervise staff and volunteers
  • Maintain professional relationships with community partners, peers, members, volunteers, and parents

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A dedication to innovation, inclusion, excellence, and evidence-based practices
  • A degree from a university or college in recreation, child & youth work, or a related discipline
  • Current certifications in NLS, SFA, Swim & Lifesaving Instruction, Bronze Examiner, Pool Operator Level 1, and at least one advanced qualification (additional aquatic certifications are advantageous)
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in aquatic programming and oversight
  • A minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity
  • Leadership abilities that contribute to fostering a positive team and workplace atmosphere
  • A commitment to the organization's mission, vision, and core values
  • A passion for creating supportive environments for youth
  • A valid G license and access to a vehicle
  • A clear police Vulnerable Sector check
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification
  • A complete pre-placement medical (to be provided)
