Job Title: General Manager

Location: Hamilton Downtown Family YMCA

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary Range: Level 3 ($63,000 - $75,000) annually

Job Summary:

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the branch, ensuring efficient and effective business performance, and driving strategic initiatives to achieve the organization's goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all departments and programs, including membership, asset, aquatics, health and wellness, and child & youth
  • Foster a positive work environment and ensure customer satisfaction and financial growth
  • Develop and implement branch operating plans to ensure quality assurance and service excellence
  • Manage the branch's operational and capital budgets
  • Lead and facilitate branch promotions and retention strategies to support member and community engagement
  • Ensure adherence to Human Resource policies and procedures
  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal policies and procedures related to branch management
  • Oversee branch asset management, including housekeeping and capital initiatives

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree in Health, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a mid-management position in a results-oriented role
  • Strong program delivery experience, including youth, aquatics, fitness, or seniors with associated certifications
  • Skills in Human Resources Management, health, fitness and recreation, membership and program delivery, and financial management
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office using Word and Excel
