Plumbing Technician I Job Overview

The Plumbing Technician I is tasked with the installation, replacement, and maintenance of comprehensive hot and cold water systems, HVAC systems, and various mechanical installations, including kitchen and laboratory apparatus, drainage systems, condensate return, and sewer lines, as well as fire hydrants. This role plays a vital part in fostering a safe, clean, and comfortable environment through exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute installations and repairs for water and steam systems along with associated equipment.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of drainage, sewage systems, and fire hydrants.
  • Deliver guidance and direction on job tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within facilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma or an equivalent qualification.
  • Possession of a valid Provincial Trade Certification as a Plumber.
  • A minimum of five years' experience as a certified plumbing professional.
  • Experience in testing backflow prevention devices.
  • Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with tools and equipment relevant to plumbing.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
