Position Overview: Q-Block Computing is on the lookout for a Senior Quantum Scientist to become a pivotal member of our forward-thinking team. This position presents a remarkable chance to engage in the advancement of state-of-the-art quantum technologies across various domains, including sensing, communication, and computation. The selected candidate will be involved in experimental innovations related to cavity-coupled neutral atom tweezer arrays aimed at quantum simulation and computation, alongside research focused on the commercialization of quantum communication and sensing technologies.

Role Summary: As a Senior Quantum Scientist, you will work closely with fellow researchers, design innovative research initiatives, and oversee a small group of scientists. This role includes opportunities for project development and crafting grant proposals to kickstart government-funded research endeavors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and implement intricate atomic molecular optical (AMO) physics experiments.
  • Lead a small research group, providing mentorship to junior scientists.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge exchange within the team.
  • Analyze experimental data and interpret findings to guide engineering decisions and improve laboratory capabilities.
  • Keep abreast of the latest advancements in quantum science and technology.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports and adhere to best practices in research data management.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline with at least 4 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in experimental quantum information science or related fields, particularly in atomic molecular optical physics.
