Position Overview: Q-Block Computing is in search of a Senior Quantum Scientist to enhance our pioneering efforts in the realm of quantum technologies. This position presents a unique chance to engage in the advancement of innovative solutions in quantum sensing, communication, and computation. The successful candidate will be involved in the experimental development of cavity-coupled neutral atom tweezer arrays aimed at quantum simulation and computation, along with research focused on the commercialization of quantum communication and sensing technologies.
Role Summary: As a Senior Quantum Scientist, you will work collaboratively with a team of researchers, design and oversee research initiatives, and lead a small group of scientists. Responsibilities will include project development and crafting grant proposals to secure funding for government-sponsored research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and implement intricate atomic molecular optical (AMO) physics experiments.
- Supervise a small research team and provide mentorship to junior scientists.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge exchange within the team.
- Conduct data analysis and interpret findings to guide engineering decisions and improve laboratory capabilities.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in quantum science and technology.
- Prepare monthly progress reports and adhere to best practices in research data management.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline with at least 4 years of relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in experimental quantum information science or related fields, particularly in atomic molecular optical physics.
