Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Developer 2 – Women's Climb to join our team at Arc'teryx Limited. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for building fully resolved solutions that align with the original intent and vision of our product design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to product design by developing unique and resolved solutions through patterning and concept prototyping, ensuring alignment with Arc'teryx design philosophies and original intent.
  • Produce production-level garments and supporting documentation to ensure scalable construction in a bulk production environment.
  • Collaborate with designers, pattern makers, and product developers to create, document, and communicate new concepts, construction processes, techniques, and manufacturing solutions that meet Arc'teryx product ideals.
  • Build partial or complete concept prototypes to test, review, and validate solutions.
  • Collaborate with pattern makers and product developers on seasonal projects as required.
  • Influence and contribute to developing design standards and ensure consistency across all styles within the line plan.
  • Test various materials to assess suitability for construction techniques and end uses, providing recommendations and documenting information and results.
  • Support the creation of field and wear test samples by providing direction and requests to the cutting team.
  • Assist the sample and design teams in responding to problems as they arise.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new design developer hires.

Requirements
  • 4+ years' experience working in a technical design environment.
  • Diploma or degree in fashion design or equivalent experience.
  • Previous pattern making experience, particularly CAD experience with Gerber.
  • Strong sewing, building, and pattern making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Illustrator, with the ability to quickly learn new computer applications.
  • Proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and seeking solutions, with a commitment to doing what is right.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity.
  • Effective balance of autonomy and collaboration.
  • Ability to inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement.
  • Passion for the work and a passion for getting outside and living it.
  • Strong knowledge of Arc'teryx products and interest in activities Arc'teryx makes products for.
Compensation

A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$80,000 - CAD$100,000 at the time of this posting. Individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and/or training.
