About the Role

Ville de Laval is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Economic Programs Advisor. This is a temporary 2-year position that offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of our city's economic growth and prosperity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of administrative processes for economic programs and collaborations, and provide recommendations based on municipal policies and strategic plans.
  • Assist in the management and oversight of budgets, and provide support to the responsible person in controlling funds associated with each program.
  • Collaborate with various city services (finance, legal affairs, evaluation, urban planning) to develop new programs or financial incentives, and participate in working groups to promote investment, attraction, and development of businesses in Laval.
  • Design presentations to support recommendations on orientations and action plans related to economic programs.
  • Develop, create, and propose processes, tools, and procedures related to new programs and optimization of existing ones.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Good knowledge of financial aid programs, control processes, and fund tracking.
  • Good knowledge of obligations related to financial aid conventions and agreements with governments.
  • Experience in budget management, indicator tracking, and analysis (financial statements, etc.).
  • Good writing skills at an executive level (subvention tracking reports, project evaluation, and synthesis documents).
  • Ability to demonstrate rigor, autonomy, and good planning, organization, and project tracking skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint at an advanced level).
