Teacher - General Education Specialist

Position Overview:
Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (La commission scolaire du Nunavik) is seeking a qualified Teacher - General Education Specialist to join our team in Nunavik. As a key member of our adult education department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality educational programs to students in the English and French sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement educational programs for adult learners in generalist education
- Teach English and French as a second language, as well as other subjects as required
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices
Requirements:
- Brevet d'enseignement or a teaching permit from the province of Quebec or from a Canadian province
- Fluency in two (2) of the three (3) official languages of KI (Inuktitut, English and French)
- Experience in adult education and multi-level classes
Assets:
- Knowledge and teaching of the MEES programs
- Experience in teaching English and French as a second language
- Knowledge of the Moodle platform
Classification / Salary / Benefits:
Salary and benefits as per the Teachers Collective Agreement of the Board: from $46,527 to $92,027 annually depending on experience and qualifications. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
