The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to join our team at Challenger Motor Freight Inc. This is a unique opportunity to develop and oversee comprehensive procurement and material management standards, policies, and procedures for our group of companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that meet the group's requirements.
  • Manage the procurement process, including requests for proposals, evaluations, negotiations, and award of purchase orders and agreements.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and contractors to optimize procurement requirements.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with key suppliers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Review and analyze existing contracts to ensure ongoing feasibility and alignment with group objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance procurement efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and support to teams on sourcing and purchasing processes.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement management.
  • Prior experience in a large distribution company is an asset.
  • Diploma or certification in Finance, Business, or Accounting is required.
  • SCMP Designation is considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
