About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to join our team at Wiser Solutions, Inc. as we continue to innovate and expand our Commerce Execution Suite. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying high-quality software solutions that drive business growth and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product-Driven Engineering: You will work closely with our product team to identify and prioritize product-driven engineering initiatives, ensuring that our software solutions meet the evolving needs of our customers.
  • Agile Delivery: You will be responsible for delivering high-quality software solutions using agile methodologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
  • System Design and Development: You will design and develop scalable, secure, and reliable software systems using modern technologies and patterns, such as domain-driven design, event sourcing, and CQRS.
  • Technical Leadership: You will provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring that our software development team has the skills and expertise needed to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Collaboration and Communication: You will work closely with our product, architecture, data science, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless collaboration and effective communication throughout the software development lifecycle.
Requirements
  • 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Experience with product-driven engineering and agile delivery methodologies.
  • Strong coding background in multiple languages, including proficiency in front-end and server-side development.
  • Ability to guide and coach multiple engineering teams on software design principles and best practices.
  • Good system design skills, with meaningful experience designing high-scale distributed systems.
  • Proficiency with modern tech stacks, object/data modeling, business process, and domain-driven design.
  • Experience with software engineering as related to systems integrations, automation, and deployment.
  • Proven ability to learn quickly, make pragmatic decisions, and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Track record of lifting and challenging teammates to higher levels of achievement.
  • Strong experience working with both relational and unstructured data.
  • Familiarity with Linux, cloud computing (AWS, etc.), and containerization.
  • Good testing habits and strong eye for quality.
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, and relationship building skills conducive to driving consensus; able to work well in a cross-functional environment.
  • Ownership – feel a sense of personal accountability/responsibility to drive execution from start to finish.
  • Experience in leading & balancing priorities across multiple delivery teams working across multiple time zones (US, Europe, and India).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a history of hands-on, detail orientation.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of CAD$180,000 to CAD$210,000, as well as performance-based discretionary bonuses and variable pay plans. Our total compensation package is designed to attract and retain top talent in the industry.
