Your Role

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing AI and machine learning solutions aimed at enhancing the security and operational efficiency of the embedded finance sector. Your contributions will be crucial in creating, implementing, and sustaining machine learning systems that tackle significant challenges in the payment industry, including fraud detection, transaction enrichment, dispute resolution, anti-money laundering (AML), and sanctions compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Model Development and Implementation: You will design and maintain the machine learning infrastructure that supports data scientists in developing, training, and deploying ML models. Your expertise will facilitate the entire model lifecycle, enhancing productivity and innovation. You will lead engineering efforts on projects related to fraud detection, transaction enrichment, and compliance enhancements.
  • Collaboration and Strategy: Work closely with product teams and stakeholders to align business needs with technical solutions. Engage in strategic discussions to promote data-driven decision-making and provide actionable insights based on model performance.
  • Research and Innovation: Keep up with the latest advancements in machine learning and payment technologies. Investigate new data sources and modeling techniques to improve the accuracy and efficiency of existing models. Initiate projects that leverage cutting-edge machine learning methods to address both new and ongoing challenges in the payment sector.
  • Technical Documentation and Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory and ethical standards in all machine learning processes. Document the development processes and outcomes for both technical and non-technical audiences, and assist in preparing necessary reports for regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience or a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms and machine learning infrastructure, including AWS, Sagemaker, Databricks, and Terraform.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and familiarity with ML frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Strong grasp of data structures, data modeling, software architecture, and large-scale computing systems.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with generative AI modeling technologies.
  • Experience in scalable production model development and deployment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with natural language processing techniques for data interpretation.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks impacting the finance and payment industries.
  • Experience with DevOps/MLOps tools to enhance model deployment efficiency.
