Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Sofina Foods. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting excellence in all maintenance activities, supervising maintenance staff, and ensuring the maintenance department and processes are streamlined and monitored.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, and review the work of staff responsible for maintenance of the plant, including equipment repairs and installations.
- Establish schedules and methods for providing maintenance and repair services, review needs with management staff, identify resources required, allocate resources, and follow up to ensure completion.
- Develop and manage annual maintenance/engineering costs, analyzing opportunities for savings, ensuring adequate inventory levels of parts and supplies to minimize downtime while reducing inventory costs.
- Administer the Preventative Maintenance Program, focusing on preventing plant equipment breakdown, including inspections, delegation of maintenance activities and tasks, allocation of resources, and follow up.
- Provide leadership and supervision to staff, hiring, reviewing performance, providing feedback, determining training and development needs, and providing coaching and work direction.
- Ensure the facility operates safely and efficiently, maximizing equipment life and reducing the risk of failure, ensuring equipment and machines have appropriate guarding and protection, and working with Health & Safety to resolve any deficiencies.
- Drive continuous improvement in areas of equipment reliability and throughputs, analyzing to identify root cause of downtime and inefficient operations.
- Responsible for sourcing and supervising third-party contractors for repairs and maintenance beyond the workforce scope, ensuring quality workmanship and completion to specifications and requirements.
- Assist workforce with troubleshooting, fixing, and maintaining plant equipment, machinery, and related facilities as required, performing technical and complex tasks as needed.
- Review and/or complete documentation/records to ensure accuracy and completion for Quality Assurance and regulatory bodies as required.
- Work closely with key department stakeholders to understand production/maintenance objectives and deliverables, including plant compliance.
- Communicate and coordinate regularly with stakeholders on maintenance project status to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Manage capital projects as required, including AFE proposal, vendor selection, and coordination of activities and personnel.
- Problem solve and act as a primary decision maker in department issues.
- Minimum of 3 years management experience in a trade-oriented function.
- Licensed in Electrical or Mechanical Trade.
- Working knowledge of CAD System and ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Strong project supervisor skills in planning, scheduling, assigning.
- Strong communication skills required, able to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Hands-on individual with proven ability to provide leadership and direction to the maintenance department workforce.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
