Job Summary
Verve Senior Living is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assessments and nursing interventions with residents within your scope of practice.
- Utilize the principal functions of nursing services in licensed care and adhere to professional standards of practice.
- Assist with the implementation of current provincial Ministry and company policy and procedure.
- Participate in the Verve Quality Improvement (VQI) program.
- Administer medications as per resident medication times and document accordingly.
- Perform treatments to all residents who require them and make assessments regarding changes in a resident's condition.
- Update resident care plans according to residents' changing needs.
- Complete all medication, treatment, and incidental charting for residents on the nursing unit.
- Facilitate communication with all nursing staff regarding the care or concerns that have arisen during the shift.
- Initiate referrals to interdisciplinary team members.
- Work closely with and facilitate interactions between departments to ensure the best possible care and service is provided to residents.
- Utilize and allocate resources effectively by distributing, monitoring, and maintaining adequate nursing supplies and equipment on the unit.
- Provide direction to front-line nursing staff to ensure use of equipment and supplies is in accordance with policies and procedures, manufacturer's instructions, and health and safety regulations.
- Supervise and investigate staff actions or concerns to determine the proper resolution.
- Coach and mentor front-line healthcare staff when required.
- Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, and Workplace Hazardous Material Information Systems.
Requirements
- Recognized nursing license (LPN licensing) and good standing.
- Written and verbal fluency in English.
- Excellent leadership skills and organizational skills.
- Proficient computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, and MDS/RAI).
- 1 year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
