Job Title: Convenience Store Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Convenience Store Manager to join our team at J&P Variety #2. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for leading our store operations, managing staff, and driving sales growth.

Job Summary:
  • Lead and manage daily store operations, including sales, customer service, and inventory management.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of sales associates and management staff.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue growth and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Manage store budgets, including labor, inventory, and expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct and control daily store operations, including sales, customer service, and inventory management.
  • Evaluate daily store operations and make adjustments as needed to improve performance.
  • Plan and organize daily store operations, including scheduling, inventory management, and customer service.
  • Manage staff and assign duties, including training and development.
  • Study market research and trends to determine consumer demand and sales opportunities.
  • Determine merchandise and services to be sold, including pricing and promotions.
  • Implement price and credits policies, including loyalty programs and discounts.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to drive sales and customer engagement.
  • Plan budgets and monitor revenues and expenses, including labor, inventory, and expenses.
  • Determine staffing requirements and manage staff schedules.
  • Resolve issues that may arise, including customer complaints and supply shortages.
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to staff.
  • Manage difficult situations with customers, including complaints and returns.
  • Organize and maintain inventory, including receiving and stocking merchandise.
  • Prevent and detect shoplifting and theft in retail establishments.
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily store operations.
Requirements:
  • 3-4 years of experience in retail management, including sales, customer service, and inventory management.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business or a related field an asset.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
