As a Network Solutions Engineer at EllisDon, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing advanced support for all network-related hardware and software issues, ensuring thorough documentation and assisting in secondary support when necessary.
- Overseeing and maintaining both LAN and WAN operations continuously, focusing on both wired and wireless configurations to guarantee optimal server and network performance.
- Applying network design methodologies to strategize, execute, and integrate various LAN/WAN systems, including Data Centers, core network elements, wireless configurations, MPLS setups, and load balancing techniques.
- Contributing to the design of VOIP networks, enhancing network security, and maintaining related applications.
- Engaging in network backup and recovery processes, as well as disaster prevention and recovery planning.
- Collaborating across departments to support infrastructure, local and wide area networks, and Internet services that impact overall system efficiency.
- Offering technical knowledge and serving as a point of escalation for other operational teams.
- Monitoring operational metrics and conducting necessary audits.
- Keeping comprehensive records of network inventory, specifications, and configurations in accordance with ITIL standards.
- Assisting in various projects and initiatives as required.
Are you the ideal candidate for this role?
- Hold a post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field.
- Have current CCNP or CCIE certifications.
- Bring a minimum of 5 years of experience in large enterprise settings working with Cisco technologies, including switches, routers, firewalls, VOIP systems, wireless controllers, and load balancers.
- Demonstrate proficiency in diagnosing intricate network challenges using tools such as Wireshark, Splunk, and NETFLOW.
- Exhibit strong documentation capabilities and skills in network visualization.
- Familiarity with Aruba Clearpass is considered advantageous.
- Show a passion for network support and IT service delivery.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to research and understand emerging technologies and trends as necessary.
- Capability to prioritize and manage tasks effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Hold a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle.
