Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse - Medicine Oncology

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team in the Medicine Oncology department. As a key member of our inter-professional healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient-focused nursing care to patients with less complex needs and predictable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
  • Practice patient-centered care to ensure patient safety and well-being
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Provide health education and discharge instructions to patients and families
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Recent experience in palliative and oncology nursing
  • Proficient in core competencies for palliative care, including pain assessment tools
  • Palliative Care certificate or Certified Hospice Palliative Care Nurse certificate
  • Foundation in oncology nursing practice course
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an inter-professional team
