Project Controls Specialist

Position Overview:

We are currently in search of a dedicated Project Controls professional to enhance our operations and support project management efforts. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful execution of projects in the mining sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct audits and provide mentorship for new job entries within the system.
  • Review invoicing processes and report on Key Performance Indicators and Schedule Performance Index to clients.
  • Manage forecasting and equipment distribution for various projects.
  • Oversee completion of FWI's, contract modifications, and procurement approvals.
  • Monitor and report on monthly budget adherence and production discrepancies.
  • Facilitate job closeouts and prepare final reports.
  • Guide and develop Project Coordinators through mentorship and training.
  • Participate in the development, testing, and implementation of new control processes and optimization strategies.
  • Provide support to the Project Manager and assist Superintendents and Project Coordinators as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Mining Engineering Technology or a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in project controls, ideally within the mining industry.
  • Experience in mining, industrial, construction, or manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and project management tools such as MS Project.
  • Exhibit strong mentorship, communication, and leadership capabilities, with a proven ability to engage with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrate initiative, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work at various underground mine sites as required.
