About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in the Wound Prevention and Management Program. As a key member of our interprofessional team, you will play a vital role in supporting the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of facility and unit-based pressure injury initiatives.

As a Pressure Injury Prevention Nurse, you will work collaboratively with unit and facility-based teams to advance pressure injury prevention practice within our Central Zone. You will demonstrate expertise in pressure injury prevention, program implementation, education, leadership, and professional practice, while adhering to the Interprofessional Practice and Learning Framework.

This is a long-term assignment, full-time position (75 hours bi-weekly) with a competitive hourly rate of $31.12 - $35.11. Successful candidates may also be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced LPN with a strong background in pressure injury prevention and management. Key qualifications include:

  • Graduate of an accredited program for Licensed Practical Nurses
  • Current LPN registration (in good standing) with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing
  • Minimum of 3 years full-time clinical experience within the last 5 years in an area with exposure to pressure injury prevention and management practices
  • BLS-C (HCP) certification
  • Working knowledge of best practices for pressure injury prevention
  • Evidence of effective interpersonal and communication skills in varied contexts
  • Demonstrated initiative and innovative problem-solving
  • Skilled in the facilitation of practice development
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Suite and computer documentation systems
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
