Job Title: Department Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Department Manager to join our team at No Frills. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, managing front-end operations, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support franchisee and bookkeeper in delivering consistent and high-quality customer service
  • Perform customer service, cashier, and e-commerce functions
  • Manage direct reports, delegate duties, and ensure front-end standards and functions
  • Oversee the efficient running of the cash office, including pick-ups, deposits, cash losses, and cash tray discrepancies
  • Analyze reports to identify problems and determine solutions
  • Ensure price integrity by assisting with time file data management, price changes, and scan log procedures
  • Support bookkeeper with store administration functions, including weekly accounting, invoice payment and reconciliation, bank statements, and GL inquiries
  • Support bookkeeper with payroll to ensure employees are paid accurately and on-time
  • Maintain and manage benefit and pension administration
  • Manage potential loss through buggy management, test orders, refund/override minimization, and coordinating cashier activities
Requirements:
  • Open availability and flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays according to business needs
  • Demonstrated commitment to superior customer service
  • Strong technical knowledge of all front-end operations
  • Problem-solving skills, including responding to customer complaints and inquiries
  • Issue management skills, including time management, interpersonal skills, conflict management, information gathering skills, problem-solving, and team building skills
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and active listening
