About the Role
The Provincial Department Head - Public Health and Preventive Medicine is a unique position that reports directly to both the Department Head of Community Health and Epidemiology within the College of Medicine and the Chief Medical Officer of the SHA. This role operates in a matrix leadership position that spans the College of Medicine and the SHA, with the goal of achieving Saskatchewan's healthcare and academic missions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic counsel and consultative services to medical and administrative colleagues
- Act as a bridge builder between public need, medical training, research, medical practice, and care delivery
- Ensure the seamless integration of quality improvement initiatives and clinical standards direction of a provincial clinical department
- Manage academic financial resources and ensure the provincial mandate for teaching
Requirements
The successful candidate will possess an FRCPC in Public Health and Preventive Medicine, or an equivalent level of training and experience, and be eligible for licensure in the Province of Saskatchewan. They will be based in any Saskatchewan community.
