Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Engineering Technologist to join our team at Pan Am Clinic. As a key member of our clinical engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective operation of medical equipment and devices used in patient care areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and maintenance for complex medical devices and equipment
  • Ensure that all medical equipment is properly calibrated, tested, and certified
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and resolve equipment-related issues
  • Develop and implement procedures for equipment maintenance and repair
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols to prevent equipment-related accidents
Requirements
  • Graduation from an Electronics Technology or Biomedical Engineering Technology program from an accredited institution
  • Registration with CTTAM (Certified Technicians and Technologists Association of Manitoba Inc.)
  • Experience in clinical or biomedical engineering, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology, as well as electronics and mechanical systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification as a Certified Biomedical Engineering Technologist (CBET(c)) with The Canadian Board of Examiners for Biomedical Engineering Technologists and Technicians
  • Experience with LEADS in a Caring Environment framework
  • Proficiency in PC use and office productivity software applications
Working Conditions
  • Position involves walking, standing, and lifting equipment and supplies
  • May be exposed to solvents and chemicals used in electronic maintenance
  • May be required to travel throughout the service area
