Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at BC Cancer. As a Registered Nurse in our Ambulatory Care Unit, you will play a critical role in providing holistic nursing care to oncology patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to oncology patients, including assessment, intervention, symptom management, treatment coordination, and education.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications, injections, and IV fluids as required, and monitor patient reactions to treatment.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including health history, nursing assessments, and care evaluations.
  • Admit, transfer, or discharge patients according to BC Cancer policies and procedures.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, and refer them to other healthcare professionals and services as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives.
  • One year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and ability to apply it in practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Awareness of and commitment to Indigenous cultural safety and anti-racism principles.
