About the Role

Affinity Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to support our public sector client in a Data Centre Transformation initiative. As a key member of our team, you will provide structured analysis and execution support to impact people, processes, and technology changes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support Data Centre Transformation: Provide core support to teams involved in the Data Centre Transformation initiative, including early-stage scope planning, analysis, and documentation, as well as support for the design/redesign of data center foundational systems/structure, system/application migration/decommission, operational support, and other analysis or team needs as required.
  2. Partner with Stakeholders: Collaborate with Product owners/Business leads/Project Managers on road mapping, stakeholder engagement, scope management, and prioritization.
  3. Business Analysis: Develop and execute a solid business analysis approach to elicit, analyze, and document/refine detailed user needs in user stories or other supporting artifacts as appropriate.
  4. System and User Analysis: Support in detailed system and user analysis needs and gaps and ensure proper documentation.
  5. Process Definition: Support in current/future process definition and mapping of user and player experience.
  6. Team Support: Support the development team to understand needs and dependencies.
  7. Facilitation: Facilitate conversations (requirement sessions, refinement meetings, sprint planning, retro, standup, etc.).
  8. Technical Support: Conduct technical operational support and troubleshooting as needed to support the product area.
  9. Proactive Support: Provide proactive support to assigned teams.
  10. BA Best Practices: Advocate for BA best practices.
  11. Status and Issues Reporting: Provide regular status and issues reporting to the Capability Manager, Project Manager, PO.
  12. Additional Tasks: May be required to learn basic knowledge of other capability areas in the team and/or systems where needed to support the team.
Requirements
  1. IIBA Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK): Knowledge of IIBA Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) knowledge areas and techniques.
  2. Senior BA Experience: 6+ years of dedicated BA experience at the Senior level.
  3. Business User Experience: Experience working with business users and subject matter experts to produce comprehensive requirements, gap analysis, current and future state design, and other analyses.
  4. Certifications: Certifications preferred: CBAP, Six Sigma, PMP, ScrumMaster, or Product Owner certification.
  5. Equivalent Combination: An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

  1. Requirements Management: Solid skills in eliciting, creating, and managing requirements, gained through applied work experiences (Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban).
  2. Process Modelling: Process modelling.
  3. Workshop Planning: Workshop planning and facilitation.
  4. Business Case Development: Business case development.
  5. Collaboration: Expertise in collaborating and managing successful delivery with external IT development partners.
  6. Technical Skills: Intermediate to expert users of Visio, JIRA, and Confluence.
  7. Communication: Exceptional written, and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  8. Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving and analytical thinking/innovation, and development of contingency plans for risks.
