Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class 1 Driver to join our team at West Coast Reduction Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for collecting raw materials from food processors, restaurants, supermarkets, and other commercial kitchens, and transporting them to our facility for processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive scheduled routes based on instructions from dispatchers to collect raw materials from customers
  • Properly use vacuum pumps, hydraulic equipment, and other fleet tools to collect and transport materials
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspection checks to ensure vehicle and equipment are in good working condition
  • Report any damages, issues, or concerns to dispatchers in a timely manner
  • Work flexible hours, including early mornings and weekends, to meet business needs

Requirements:

  • BC Class 1 Driver's license with a clean abstract
  • Strong knowledge of the surrounding neighborhoods and Lower Mainland areas
  • 2 years of commercial truck driving experience or similar capacity
  • Prior experience with roll-off trucks beneficial
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and colleagues
  • Ability to frequently move, carry, lift, push, and pull equipment up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance
