The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing and preparing financial statements that comply with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises;
  • Completing month-end closing and preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Preparing daily bank reconciliations;
  • Providing support to site managers and staff with regards to monthly financial results;
  • Collecting and reporting daily and monthly activity (de-icing events, collection);
  • Assisting with preparation for audits and tax returns, as required;

Requirements:

  • Certified Public Accounting designation or working towards Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation preferred;
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in finance, accounting, business administration or relevant post-secondary education and a combination of continuing education and experience;
  • 2+ years of progressive work experience in an accounting role;
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical ability;
  • Above average written and oral communication skill;
  • Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs;
  • Ability to self-manage multiple, simultaneous projects on deadline;
