Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Technician to join our team at First Transit Canada. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and reliability of our fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with vehicles, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
  • Assist in the performance of preventative maintenance tasks, such as safety inspections and annual maintenance checks.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work completed, including parts and supplies used.
  • Collaborate with senior technicians to ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
  • Class B CDL with passenger endorsement required (or expected within 3 months of hire).
  • ASE Certification preferred; must participate in ASE testing program within 1 year.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and 0-1 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred) or equivalent education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions
  • Maintenance shop environment with dust, dirt, and grease conditions.
  • Ability to work under all weather conditions and in a crouched position or on back, lying on mechanic's creeper, beneath motor vehicle equipment.
