Drywall Installation Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at Rebel Custom Homes Inc. The ideal candidate will have experience in drywall installation, including cutting and installing metal corner beads, fabricating and installing suspended metal ceiling grids, and filling joints and holes with joint compound.

Work Site Environment

The work site environment will be dusty, hot, and noisy, with some outdoor work required. The candidate will be required to work at various locations and may be required to work overtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
  • Filling joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
  • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
  • Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

The candidate will be required to work in a physically demanding environment, with tasks that require bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. The candidate will also be required to work under pressure and may be required to work overtime.

Weight Handling

The candidate will be required to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and may be required to work at heights.

Personal Suitability

The ideal candidate will have excellent client focus, dependability, flexibility, judgement, reliability, and team player skills. The candidate will also be required to work in a fast-paced environment and may be required to work overtime.
